Feast of St. George at Gonnoi
Gonni honor their patron Saint George with religious and other events. Initially, at the holy temple of St. George, there is a celebratory evening with blessing and divine preaching.
The next day, a celebrating divine liturgy takes place, and afterwards, horse riders from the Horse Club of the Aravanitikon Horses of Gonni "Agios Georgios" accompany the icon of the Saint in its procession throughout the area.
After the procession and the completion of the religious events in Gonni Square, the dancing groups of the Gonni Cultural Association are presented, followed by a popular feast.
The active organization of the Equestrian Association of Aravanitikon Horses of Gonni "Agios Georgios" is responsible for the event.
Feast of St. George at Makrichori
A festive divine liturgy will be performed at the chapel of the Saint, on the day of the feast.
Then, a procession of horse riders carries the icon of St. George in the central square of Makrichori, where a litany to the central streets of the village begins to take place.
