Municipality of Tempi
a four seasons destination

The Municipality of Tempi, which bears its name from the homonymous valley, is formed between the mythical Mount Olympus and the green Kissavos and is located in the center of Greece.

It is an ideal destination for all seasons of the year, with easy access, as it is right on the axis of the main motorway that connects Athens with Thessaloniki.

The Municipality of Tempi includes points of unique natural beauty, such as the Tempi valley and the Delta of Peneus, traditional villages like Ampelakia, where the world's first cooperative was founded, pilgrimages such as the church of Aghia Paraskevi into the valley, and also 6km of sandy beaches which are an ideal destination during the summer months.

The Pinios River offers many cross-river activities from spring to autumn, while the paths and the natural environment of Kissavos and the lower Olympus offer unique nature trails all year round.

The settlements of the municipality are spread over the slopes of Olympus and Kissavos mountains and their hospitable inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. The most known local products are wine, olives, kiwi and almonds, for which local celebrations are organized.

The cultural activity in the area is also rich, including festivals (narrative in Kalipefki village, traditional dances in Makriochori and choirs in Sykourio), horse races and celebrations in religious feasts.

Tempi Municipality is more than just a pass on a famous route.

It is a destination that includes points of unique natural beauty, historical and religious importance and offers an alternative to visitors looking for diversity in their escapes.
